A modal verb expressing desire or intention. Irregular in present tense (ich will, du willst). Used with infinitive at the end: 'Ich will Deutsch lernen' (I want to learn German).

Usage Tips
'wollen' is more direct than 'möchten' (would like). In polite situations, prefer 'möchten': 'Ich möchte einen Kaffee' sounds more polite than 'Ich will einen Kaffee'.
